A little attention to Valentine's Day

Due to the fast pace of modern life, many people give little attention to Valentine's Day; But what if Valentine's Day was upgraded from a day of romance to a week of focusing on that special relationship in ordinary, and extraordinary, ways? Enjoy this opportunity to express your love in meaningful ways. Here's a list of ideas you can do the week leading up to Valentine's Day:

DAY 1: Write a thank you card to each other listing ten things that you admire and appreciate.

DAY 2: Give your spouse three heart felt compliments throughout today. Possible areas to focus on: Appearance, Attitude, Actions, Articulations, and Attributes.

DAY 3: Write an email or text a short message about your love for your spouse. Do this several times during the day. ONe way to start these messages: I love you because...

DAY 4: Give your spouse a small gift they would enjoy (i.e. a rose, a cup of coffee, a gift card, a book) Start reading a book on relationships.

DAY 5: Plan a day trip or a longer getaway that the two of you can take together sometime in the next six months.

DAY 6: Sincerely apologize for three things you’ve done that might have been hurtful, selfish, or offensive during the past six months.

DAY 7: Snuggle together on the couch with your favorite deserts and watch a romantic movie together. Sometime during the movie give each other shoulder, neck, or foot rubs.

Valentine’s Day: Do something truly special for Valentine’s Day. Look your very best and go out somewhere romantic. Reminisce about the most romantic places you’ve been and your favorite Valentine Day’s together.
